Dorothy Rutka (1907 - 1985)

Dorothy Rutka worked for the WPA's Federal Art Project No. 1. She was interested in the cultural aspects of society and the effects of poverty during the Depression. Her art training was at the Cleveland School of Art (1926-29). Rutka became a portrait painter, writer, and illustrator.
In this print, Rutka uses the engraving technique to create a line drawing.
