Oscar Weissbuch (1904 - 1948)

Oscar Weissbuch worked for the New York City WPA graphics program. He was known for his modern figural work and for townscapes, such as the image of the small town here.
This image has the crisp contrasts and strong textures of the wood engraving technique.
