Trailed Feather and Eye Beads

The left column contains rounded flat beads with combed or feathered millefiori designs on them. Below these are fluted round and egg-shaped beads (both columns). The beads on the upper right are glass imitations of Tibetan Dzi beads, a type of eye bead believed to have spiritual properties. These glass reproduction beads were among the types that Stephen A. Frost & Son exported to Africa, where they were popular with the Berber and Hassidic Numidian tribes.
