Corkscrew and Lace Beads

The striped beads on the upper left of this card are sometimes called "corkscrew." The stripe is one continuous thread of glass that has been burnished to smooth out the surface.

The beads in the right-hand column are sometimes called "lace" beads or "French Ambassador" beads. They feature lacy patterns of wavy lines, dots, flowers, and leafy vines. These were among the types favored by milliners in the Late Victorian and the Edwardian Age.
