Rudolstadt--Dressel, Kister & Co. and A. W. Fr. Kister Dressel, Kister & Co. was founded in 1837 in Scheibe, Schwartzburg near Rudolstadt, Thuringia. In 1854 the firm participated in the industrial exhibition in Munich with "figures and doll heads." In 1876 the firm closed and reopened under the name A. W. Fr. Kister. after the new owner August Wilhelm Friedolin. The new firm was still offering doll heads and other toys in 1949.
