Keenly interested in establishing a collaborative relationship with the natural world, Reed's work unfolds from an implied contract she has made with materials gathered during long walks: pine needles, grasses, even leaf stems. As she works, she allows the shape and proportion of these elements to determine the angle and direction of her vessel's walls. The resulting object is rich in an earthy, yet elegant, quality of form.
