Accidentally introduced in Quebec in 1860, cabbage butterflies are now common in North America. They reproduce quickly—five or six generations each year. Their caterpillars are garden pests feeding on the leaves of cabbage, brussels sprouts, and related plants. Cabbage butterflies are one of the first butterflies of spring.
