Mob killing Joseph Smith

In June of 1844, charges were made against Joseph Smith, the Mormon leader. He and his brother Hyrum were placed in a nearby jail. The result was tragic.

When a mob attacked the building, both Joseph and Hyrum were killed. Now, a year later, the Mormons of Nauvoo remain in turmoil.
