Gift of Joseph French, St. Louis, Missouri.Frank Cassini (1899-1967) was a prolific carver of prey and confidence decoys for forty years. He produced more that 5,000 decoys. He made several examples of dove decoys of balsa wood. The decoys were hung in trees from a string attached to a screwhook in their backs. They are considered graceful works of folk art today.
