Hand Tools in Agriculture
Agricultural tasks were accomplished with hand tools from ancient times until the nineteenth century, when some farmers in The United States and Europe used the new machines that were driven by horse or steam power. This section will focus on hand tools in the Museum's collections and information gathered from video and audio interviews with Illinois farmers who grew up using hand tools.
