Uses of QTVR for Museums

Museums can use QTVR technology in many ways both in the museum, the classroom, and in a distributed manner over the Internet.

Some of the ways we are using this technology include the following:

• Taking visitors to museum facilities which the public cannot usually visit, for example a tour of ISM's Research and Collections Center.
• Letting the public come along to remote research areas.
• Documenting localities as part of research activities .
• Enhancing our online exhibits by providing more informative images.
• Allowing schools to work with museum collections, for example with our Museums in the Classroom project.
• Providing access to collections in a distributed manner for education or research.
• Allowing people who cannot come to the museum to enjoy the exhibits housed in our facilities.
