Illinois State Museum partners with Nanny Caddy
The Illinois State Museum is proud to announce it is the 2nd location in Illinois to partner with Nanny Caddy and provide a chic-styled, aesthetically appealing vending machine stocked with items such as diapers, pacifiers, and baby wipes. The Illinois State Museum is a family-friendly destination, and the Nanny Caddy will provide a valuable service for visitors with young children. “A museum visit can end suddenly if there is an urgent need for a diaper or for a replacement for a lost pacifier. That is no longer a problem at the Illinois State Museum. The Museum is pleased to offer a Nanny Caddy that dispenses all the essentials of a diaper bag,” said Associate Museum Director Karen Witter. Nanny Caddy was founded in 2008 by Celena Lentz and to date has expanded from its home bases in Phoenix and Philadelphia to Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland, and Illinois. The concept of Nanny Caddy™ came to life when Celena Lentz, a mom of two toddlers, found herself forgetting items for her diaper bag one too many times. “I would realize that I had forgotten a diaper or wipes or formula after I had left the house, resulting in me having to pack up the kids, strollers, and bags and head home or to the nearest drug store,” states Lentz. "I saw the obvious need for a simple solution like Nanny Caddy™ - which would give moms, dads, babysitters, and grandparents peace of mind that they are covered if they forget something or simply didn’t want to pack a diaper bag. Founded in January 2008, Nanny Caddy, LLC, was created with the goal of relieving some of the stress that child caregivers feel when on the go with babies and young children. Nanny Caddy® provides an array of products in the convenience of an easy to use vending machine. Noted entrepreneur Patrick FitzGerald was brought on board as Chief Executive Officer in 2009 to help introduce Nanny Caddy nationwide. The Nanny Caddy is conveniently located near the restrooms in the lobby of the Illinois State Museum. The Illinois State Museum promotes discovery, learning, and an appreciation of Illinois' natural, cultural, and artistic heritage. The Museum's extensive collections and research activities provide the foundation for exhibitions and public programs that tell the story of the land, life, people, and art of Illinois. The Illinois State Museum is located at 502 S. Spring St. (the corner of Spring and Edwards Streets) in Springfield, and is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Parking is available nearby, and the building is ADA accessible.
