Roll your cursor over the dancer to find out more about the research done to create an accurate looking falcon dancer figure in the Dickson Mounds Museum's diorama.

The reconstructed image of a Missippian Indian falcon dancer appears in one of the dioramas at Dickson Mounds Museum. The artist who painted the image worked closely with Museum anthropologists to make it accurate. Teamwork between artists, exhibits staff, and Museum curators is the basis all of the Museum's exhibits.

Who were the Mississippians?

How do we know what falcon dancers looked like?
