Botanical Ceramics Artisan Quilts - ISM Museums and Galleries
Botanical Ceramics Artisan Quilts
Each year the Southern Illinois Art and Artisan Center celebrates the tradition of quilting in Illinois. And also celebrates the crossover between the themes in fibers and a craft media. We are thrilled to present an exhibition highlighting botanical themed quilts with a range of hand quilting, applique, fabric painting, machine quilting, and embroidery. The exhibition is combined with the Ceramic Centerpieces by Darby Ortolano, where each ruffle is a separately created ceramic piece that stacks. The work by our ceramic artisan and a dozen quilt artisans from throughout Illinois will be on display now through May 23, 2015.
In conjunction with the exhibition, SIAAC is hosting a Parade of Quilts Open House with daily artisan demonstrations and a large selection of fibers and quilts featured in the shop. Demonstrations kick off Wednesday, April 22- Sunday, April 26th.
