Recent Acquisitions from the Illinois State Museum Collection
This exhibition features a sampling of the many additions to the collection of fine and decorative arts during the past few years. Quilts, paintings, metal and wood sculpture, drawings, photographs, and fine art prints are included. On display are works by both male and female makers working in a variety of sizes, materials, styles, and time periods which have not been publicly exhibited since their acquisition into the Illinois State Museum collection.
The Illinois State Museum primarily grows its holdings through generous gifts by donors. These additions come from artists, foundations, private collectors, and individuals who acknowledge and respect the Illinois State Museum's mission to collect, protect, preserve, interpret, and share the treasures of Illinois' cultural history.
