Dr. Michael Conner, Dickson Mounds Museum, will present a lecture titled: Ritual and Ceremony at the Morton Village Siteat the Wednesday, November 6, 2013 meeting of the Illinois Valley Archaeological Society. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. This lecture is free and the public is invited to attend.
Investigations by archaeologists from Dickson Mounds Museum and Michigan State University over the last six years have produced strong evidence that local Mississippian Indians and immigrants of the Oneota cultural tradition were living together at the Morton Village site near Dickson Mounds around A.D.
