The Illinois Artisans Program focuses national attention on the rich heritage of the fine crafting that exists in Illinois. Our juried artists participate in art sprees, craft festivals, exhibitions and other events held at our locations in order to promote their work. | To become a juried artist of the Artisans Program, an artist must live and work within the state. Their craft work must then be reviewed and accepted by a jury-panel sponsored by the Program. Twice a year, the Artisans Program organizes a jury of knowledgeable art specialists to review applications from new artists. The location of the jury rotates between Chicago, Springfield, and Southern Illinois. Become a member of the Illinois State Museum Society and get a 10% discount at all four locations today.
