Genus Villosa

Class Bivalvia : Subclass Paleoheterodonta : Genus Villosa

Villosa iris (Rainbow)
The interior of the rainbow mussel shell has silvery white nacre that is very iridescent on the posterior half. The pseudocardinal teeth are small and triangular. The lateral teeth are long, thin, and strailght or slightly curved. The beak cavity is shallow.
