Genus Truncilla

Class Bivalvia : Subclass Paleoheterodonta : Genus Truncilla

Truncilla truncata (Deertoe)
The interior of the deertoe mussel shell has white nacre (occasionally pink) that is iridescent at the posterior end. The pseudocardinal teeth are elevated and divergent. The lateral teeth are straight to curved, high, and rough. The beak cavity can vary from shallow to deep.
