Class Bivalvia : Temporary Placement

Simpsonaias ambigua (Salamander Mussel)
The interior of the salamander mussel shell has posteroirly iridescent bluish white nacre, sometimes tinged with salmon near the beaks. The pseudocardinal teeth are very small and low. There are no lateral teeth. The beak cavity is shallow.
