Pleurobema rubrum (Pyramid Pigtoe
The interior of the pyramid pigtoe mussel shell usually has pink nacre, or occasionally has, as in this specimen, white nacre. The pseudocardinal teeth are large and the lateral teeth are curved. The beak cavity is deep.
