Class Bivalvia : Subclass Paleoheterodonta : Genus Lampsilis

Lampsilis teres (Yellow sandshell)
The interior of the yellow sandshell mussel shell has silvery white nacre, sometimes tinged with cream or salmon near the beak cavity. The pseudocardinal teeth are compressed and elongate. The lateral teeth are long and straight to somewhat curved. The beak cavity is moderately deep.
