Koeleria macanthra (June Grass)
June Grass grows to about two feet tall in dry upland prairies and open upland savannas. It grows in bunches with basal leaves about a foot long and 1/8 inch wide. This specimen shows a thick root system. Each flower has several overlapping scales and many are arranged in a long cluster at the end of each stem. It flowers from midspring to midsummer.
