Comandra umbellata (False Toadflax)
False Toadflax grows in dry prairies. it has shallow horizontal roots that allow it to partially parasitize other plants' roots.
False Toadflax is named because of its resemblance to Toadflax, which looks similar to a flax plant. The leaves are yellowish-green, about 1 1/2 inches in length and taper to a slightly rounded or pointed tip. Flowers are in a rounded cluster. Each consists of five white sepals around hairy stamens.
