Framed One Patch Quilt, ca. 1930
Made by Anna Mast Gingerich (1904 - )
The standard shape in this quilt is a 2 1/2-inch square. Anna used borders (frames) to rest the eye and unite the pattern. She quilted chevrons in the pieced areas and cables in the borders. The quilt has brown cotton backing and white cotton flannel for filler. The backing is folded over the top edge and stitched down to bind the edges.
