Brick Wall Quilt, ca. 1910
Made by Magdalena Fisher Yoder (1850 - 1937)
Magdalena pieced this quilt from suit-weight wools, probably from fabric samples often sent to dry goods stores. As with her other quilts, she quilted alternating rows of designs across the quilt -- in this case diamond grids and fans. She used blue cotton sateen for the backing and wool batting, which was not often used to fill Illinois Amish quilts.
