Monkey Wrench Medallion Quilt, ca. 1900
Made by Anna Swartzentruber Yoder (1877 - 1962)
Several quilts with many borders, called Framed quilts, were found in Arthur; however, the style was seldom used by other American quilters.
This framed quilt by Ann S. Yoder shows both this prolific quilter's interest in experimenting with many quilt styles and her creativity in adapting them to her own taste.
This quilt is made from wool, cotton broadcloth and sateen. The center is quilted with a double feathered wreath.
