Corn and Beans Quilt, ca. 1935
Made by Anna Mast Schrock (1889 - 1973)
The Corn and Beans pattern is usually made in colors of yellow and green and was popular among farm families. A less common name for this pattern is Lady of the Lake and the blue colors Amanda chose are more suggestive of this name. This quilt is machine pieced from cotton fabrics and hand quilted with double parallel lines in the large blocks composed of four triangles and double pumpkin seed in the triangle bands. Cables are stitched into the two borders.
Size: 65 by 73 inches.
