Moccasins
Circa 1900
27.3cm x 9.8cm
Gift of Thomas Condell

These men's moccasins were made in the Great Lakes area (probably Wisconsin) by an Ojibwa woman. They are made of cut and stitched deerskin and have hard soles. The floral motifs are in red, green, royal blue, medium blue, light blue, dark green, light green, yellow, pink, and vermillion seed beads. The moccasins have a tongue, ankle flaps and ties that go around the ankle. There are traces of yellow paint on the ankle flaps.
