Spenophyllum sp. are the leaf whorls of an extinct horsetail. It is related to the modern scouring rushes (Equisetum spp.).

Spenophyllum sp. was similar in size and form to modern horsetails. Like its modern relatives, it grew in swamps and other wet habitats.
