At Home...in a Century of Progress: 1920-1950
Objects Objects, 1920-1950: Depression Glass

"Colored glassware," or Depression glass as we now know it, was sold through mail-order houses and dime stores and given as premiums at movie theaters and with purchases of soap, flour, and other products. It brought a bright note to the bleak Depression era. The cheaply produced, machine-molded glass came in over 25 colors and 95 patterns.
