The presence of scrapers and knives indicates, as implied by their names, that scraping and cutting were also necessary in daily Mississippian life. These tools along with simple flakes are indicative of other household activities including:
  • processing of animal carcasses,
  • scraping animal hides,
  • preparation of meals,
  • making and repairing clothing,
  • slotting bone and shell to create needles, beads, and other items, and
  • numerous other household chores.
