  Duck Hunting Tools and Techniques
Collage of hunting tools Market hunters devised and employed tools and techniques to rapidly bag large quantities of ducks. As the duck populations decreased and these tools and techniques were declared illegal, they were replaced by the tools and hunting techniques that we know today as sport hunting. The hunting license was introduced in 1906.

Many of these older tools have become valued examples of American folk art such as handmade decoys and duck calls, as well as the hunter's most valuable tool, the shotgun.
